Departure from Mendoza city, via National Route 40, to Tunuyan county. Via Route 94, we arrive to Manzano Historico reserve, site where General San Martin rested upon his return from the campaign of liberation. Visit to the monument "Return to the Fatherland" and the San Martin museum. Transfer to the Alférez Portinari refuge (2500 m) where we will fill out the customs paperwork. Lunch, preparation of horses and loads. Trek through the Arroyo Grande gully up to the Yaretas valley (3600 m). Camp, dinner, and overnight stay.

Departure from Mendoza city (8:30 hs). Reception and check in at San Antonio refuge (2,560 m). Departure to the northeast following a stream until we arrive at the Quebrada del Estudiante, going up to the pass Lomas Blancas - Arenales and then we reach summit through a mountain ridge. Lunch at summit. Return to San Antonio. Dinner and overnight stay. |

Departure from Mendoza. Reception and check in at San Antonio Refuge (2,560 m). Departure to the northeast following a stream to arrive at the Quebrada del Estudiante, ascending to the Lomas Blancas - Arenales gap and from there by way of mountain ridge to summit. Lunch at summit. Return to San Antonio. Dinner and night's accommodation. |
