DAY 0: Meet the Guide y Equipment Check(Mendoza City)
Presentation of the guide, talk over the expedition and itinerary details (hand-out of the bibliography). Medical form fill-out and equipment check.
DAY 1: Mendoza – Scaravelli.
Length of Horseback Ride: 3 hrs. approx
Departure from the city of Mendoza via National Route 40 to the county of Tunuyan. Via Route 94 to the Historic Apple Tree Site, site where General San Martin rested upon his return from the campaign of liberation. Visit to the monument "Return to the Fatherland" and the San Martin museum. Transfer to the Alférez Portinari refuge (2,500 m) where we will fill out the customs paperwork. Lunch, presentation of the guides and preparation of the animals and loads. Ride through the Arroyo Grande gorge to the Scaravelli refuge (3,200 m). Camp, dinner, and overnight.
DAY 2: Portillo Argentino – Real de la Cruz.
Length of Horseback Ride: 7 hrs. approx
Breakfast. Preparation of animals and loads. Led by the guides and muleteers we will ascend via steep paths with the utmost safety, noticing the altitude by the scarcity of the vegetation. During the ride we will appreciate ancient rock corrals constructed by the muleteers of yesterday. Towards midday we will see a natural gap in the mountain: the Portillo Argentino (4,380 m), where we will stop for lunch. We will continue the ride toward the high valley of the Tunuyan river, admiring the beautiful virgin landscape. Arriving at the Real de la Cruz refuge (2,500 m). Camp. Snack, dinner, and overnight.
DAY 3: Lagunas de los Patos
Length of Horseback Ride: 3 hrs. approx.
Breakfast. Free morning. Lunch. Preparation of the animals and ride following the Tunuyan river, catching sight of Mt. Meson San Juan (5,100 m), to arrival at the incredible pair of lagoons de Los Patos situated on the banks of the river. Return to camp. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Real de la Oveja
Length of Horseback Ride: 5 hrs. approx.
Breakfast. Preparation of the animals and loads. Crossing of the Tunuyan river. Ride through the Palomares River gorge appreciating the beautiful rock formations. Lunch on the ride. Ascent to the Real de la Oveja camp. Camp, dinner, and overnight.
DAY 5: Portillo Piuquenes (Republic of Chile)
Length of Horseback Ride: 7 hrs. approx.
Breakfast. Preparation of the animals and loads. Ride toward the Piuquenes gap (4,045 m), international border. Hook up with the Chilean guides, "meeting toast," and lunch. Preparation of the loads and change of mount. Descent ride toward the Plomo River Gorge to the Termas del Yeso. Transfer to San Gabriel for the customs process. Transfer to Santiago.

Transport of personal equipment (15 kg max), duffle bag for the transport of personal equipment, four night's accommodation in igloo tents (doubles or triples), all meals specified with drink, emergency satellite phone, personal accident insurance, and first aid kit.

Personal Equipment (for further details see Information for the Passenger that follows.). Unspecified food and drinks. Expenses occurred for abandoning the expedition and lodging in the cities of Santiago and Mendoza, and transfer from Santiago to destination.
